Our flag hangs proudly on the pole, with the kangaroo gazing at the stars and the sky, where our destiny awaits.

The kangaroo alongside a boomerang-shaped constellation of seven stars is a testament to Australia’s unity and diversity. The seven stars, each with seven points, represent the six states and one for all territories, symbolising the collective strength and unity of Australia. The boomerang shape signifies the enduring presence of Indigenous Australians across all states and territories, acknowledging their deep and caring connection for Country.

Why Change our Current Flag
The new proposed Indigenous Australian flag design, maintaining the existing indigenous colours ensures that the vibrancy and symbolism associated with these hues endure. The ochre tones and earthy shades carry profound meaning for indigenous communities, symbolising the connection to the land and the ancestral spirits. This continuity not only honours the legacy of the past but also reinforces a sense of identity and pride among Australian Indigenous people.
By incorporating traditional symbols like the boomerang and kangaroo. The shared design with the national flag fosters unity, acknowledging Australia’s diverse cultural roots and promoting reconciliation. In essence, this flag is a visual representation of a united Australia that values both its collective identity and the unique contributions of Indigenous peoples, creating a symbol of shared history and a harmonious future.
