Australia’s future deserves a flag that speaks to all of us. This unified design brings together four distinct versions, National, Indigenous, Torres Strait, and Sports, into one shared layout. Each version uses its own colors, but the structure remains identical, symbolizing unity through diversity. Whether flying in Parliament, on Country, or at the footy, this flag says: We are different, but we belong together.

Four Flags – One Identity
Australia has four official flags that represent different parts of our national story:

Acknowledging Indigenous Culture
The kangaroo holds deep cultural significance for Australia’s Indigenous peoples, who have lived alongside this iconic animal for tens of thousands of years. Featuring the kangaroo on the new Australian proposed flag acknowledges the enduring legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities — the custodians of the world’s oldest living culture on the world’s oldest continent.
The Seven Stars
A constellation of seven stars, shaped like a boomerang, represents Australia’s unity in diversity. Each seven-pointed star stands for one of the six states and a collective seventh for all territories. This symbolic arrangement reflects Australia’s federal structure while honouring the continuous presence of Indigenous Australians across every region — their deep connection to Country woven into the national fabric.
