The proposed flag embodies a vision of unity, meaning, and identity for all Australians.
Navy Blue Background:
Representing our midnight sky, symbolizing depth, stability, and unity.
Southern Cross
Highlighting Australia’s location in the southern hemisphere, this constellation has guided and inspired generations, becoming a symbol of our nation’s identity and connection to the stars.
Commonwealth Star with Seven Points:
The star’s six points represent Australia’s six states, while the seventh encompasses all ten territories, symbolizing unity and inclusiveness across the entire nation.
Meeting Place on the Shield:
At the heart of the flag, the shield features a meeting place symbol created by our First Australians. It embodies reconciliation, respect, and a shared commitment to the common values that unite all Australians.
The Iconic Kangaroos:
As a unique and globally recognized symbol of Australia, the kangaroos stand as guardians of the shield, which represents the central meeting place. They showcase Australia’s identity, spirit, and values to the world. The Red Earth colour represents our red kangaroos and Australia’s unique soil
White Elements:
The white signifies peace, a universal aspiration that Australia extends to all of humanity.
This flag celebrates Australia’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and collective aspirations for peace and respect, serving as a meaningful emblem of the nation’s journey forward.
